此則略說數息妙門，凡聖大小乘通別之相。數息雖通，須解殊別之相。當知數息雖同共修，隨其果報差降。餘隨、止、觀、還、淨一一妙門，凡聖大小乘通別，亦復如是。

This is a brief explanation of the shared and distinct characteristics of the wondrous gate of counting the breath among ordinary persons, sages, and the Great and Lesser Vehicles. Although counting the breath is shared, one must understand the distinct characteristics. One should know that although they practice counting the breath together, it differs according to their retribution and fruit. The shared and distinct characteristics among ordinary persons, sages, and the Great and Lesser Vehicles for the other wondrous gates of following, cessation, contemplation, turning back, and purification are also like this.
