四、舌識界。舌根若對味塵，即生舌識。舌識生時，即識味塵，故名舌識界也。

Fourth, the tongue-consciousness dhātu. When the tongue faculty faces the taste object, the tongue-consciousness immediately arises. When the tongue-consciousness arises, it immediately cognizes the taste object; hence it is named the tongue-consciousness dhātu.
