二、未生惡法不令生，一心勤精進。四念處觀時，若懈怠心及五蓋等諸煩惱惡法雖未生，恐後應生，遮信等五種善根。今為不令生故，一心勤精進，方便遮止，不令得生也。

Second, dedicated diligence with single-mindedness in preventing unwholesome states that have not yet arisen from arising. At the time of contemplating the four bases of mindfulness, although unwholesome states such as a mind of laxity and defilements like the five hindrances have not yet arisen, one fears that they may arise later and obstruct the five wholesome roots such as faith. Now, in order to prevent them from arising, one diligently exerts oneself with single-mindedness, skillfully obstructing and stopping them so that they do not arise.
