四、已生善法為增長，一心勤精進。若四念處觀時，信等五種善根已生，為令增長故，一心勤精進，方便修習信等善根令不退失，增長成就。

Fourth, dedicated diligence with single-mindedness in increasing wholesome states that have already arisen. If, at the time of contemplating the four bases of mindfulness, the five wholesome roots such as faith have already arisen, in order to make them increase, one diligently exerts oneself with single-mindedness, skillfully cultivating the wholesome roots such as faith so that they do not degenerate, but grow and reach fruition.
