二禪次第定。若從初禪入二禪時，是中二禪定觀均齊，自識其心。其心次第而入，無有剎那雜念間入二禪定，是為二禪次第定。

The sequential meditative attainment of the second dhyāna. When one enters the second dhyāna from the first dhyāna, concentration and contemplation in this second dhyāna are equal and balanced, and one recognizes one's own mind. The mind enters sequentially, without even an instant of mixed thoughts intervening in entering the attainment of the second dhyāna. This is the sequential meditative attainment of the second dhyāna.
