八、宿命力。佛知種種宿命共相、共因緣，一世、二世乃至百千世，劫初盡，我在彼眾生中，如是姓名、飲食、苦樂、壽命長短，彼中死是間、生是間、死還生是間。此間生名姓、飲食、苦樂、壽命長短亦如是，如實遍知，無能壞、無能勝，八力也。

Eighth, the power of [knowing] past lives. The Buddha knows the shared characteristics and shared causes and conditions of various past lives: one lifetime, two lifetimes, up to hundreds of thousands of lifetimes, from the beginning of an aeon to its end: 'I was among those sentient beings, with such a name and clan, such food and drink, such suffering and pleasure, and such length of lifespan; dying there, I was born here; dying here, I was reborn here.' Being born here, the names, clans, food and drink, suffering and pleasure, and length of lifespan were also like this—knowing this ubiquitously in accordance with reality, indestructible and unconquerable; this is the eighth power.
