Explaining the six superknowledges after transformations has three different points of significance: If one relies on retribution-obtained superknowledges, only after obtaining the superknowledges can one perform transformations; if they are cultivation-obtained superknowledges, then one first cultivates transformations and only then obtains the superknowledges. Here, because we are ordering them according to the sequence of cultivation-obtained [attainment], we explain superknowledges after transformations. That all of these are called 'superknowledges' (tong): the Yingluo jing says, 'Spirit (shen) refers to the heavenly mind; penetration (tong) refers to the nature of wisdom. Natural wisdom thoroughly shines without obstruction, and is therefore called superknowledge (shentong).'
