Second, from "As for the various" onward: the meaning of the various explanations. For instance, the initial object of principle contains seven headings, each of which is distinguished using the four teachings, with the intention of opening the Tripiṭaka and other [teachings] so that all are perfect; they are further judged by the five flavors, wishing to open the combined and other [teachings] so that all are subtle, causing there to be no other flavor outside of ghee. Only when explained in this way can it be called the wondrous Dharma. Wisdom, practice, down to benefit each clarify various doctrinal characteristics, and all of them without exception are judged by the four teachings and five flavors, after which they are opened so that all become the ultimate flavor.
