問：「變名本出《楞伽》，彼云『不思議熏不思議變故』。造名本出《華嚴》，彼云『造種種五陰』。故《華嚴》唯有二教，《楞伽》合具四教，何故《金錍》云『變義唯二，造通於四』？」

Question: "The term 'transformation' originally comes from the Laṅkāvatāra-sūtra, which says: 'Because of inconceivable perfuming and inconceivable transformation.' The term 'creation' originally comes from the Avataṃsaka-sūtra, which says: '[The mind] creates the various five aggregates.' Therefore the Avataṃsaka has only two teachings, while the Laṅkāvatāra completely contains four teachings. Why does the Jinbi say: 'The meaning of transformation is only in two, while creation is common to all four'?"
