五住一生補處者，即是釋迦菩薩在生迦葉佛所為補處弟子，淨持禁戒行諸功德，迦葉授記次當作佛。恐此由在中忍之位也。

Fifth, abiding in the position of being bound to one last birth: this is when the Bodhisattva Śākyamuni was the disciple bound to succession during the lifetime of Kāśyapa Buddha, purely upholding the restrictive precepts and practicing various meritorious deeds, and Kāśyapa bestowed the prediction that he would next become a Buddha. It seems that this belongs to the position of the middle stage of forbearance.
