1.66

然依上四教修行時，各有方便、正修，謂二十五方便、十乘觀法。若教教各明，其文稍煩。義意雖異，名數不別，故今總明，可以意知。言二十五方便者，束為五科：一具五緣、二訶五欲、三棄五蓋、四調五事、五行五法。

Now, when cultivating according to the four teachings above, each has expedients and correct cultivation, namely the twenty-five expedients and the contemplation method of the ten vehicles. If they were explained teaching by teaching, the text would be somewhat cumbersome. Although the meaning and intent differ, their names and numbers are not different; therefore, they are now explained in general, and can be understood in meaning. Regarding the twenty-five expedients, they are bundled into five categories: 1. Fulfilling the five conditions; 2. Scolding the five desires; 3. Abandoning the five hindrances; 4. Regulating the five matters; 5. Practicing the five dharmas.
