此二十五法為四教前方便，故應須具足。若無此方便者，世間禪定尚不可得，豈況出世妙理乎？然前明教既漸頓不同，方便亦異，依何教修行，臨時審量耳。

These twenty-five dharmas are the preliminary expedients for the four teachings, and therefore one must be fully endowed with them. If one lacks these expedients, even worldly meditative concentration cannot be attained, how much less the sublime principle transcending the world! However, since the teachings explained previously differ as gradual or sudden, their expedients also differ; according to which teaching one practices, one should carefully evaluate at the time.
