"The Young Sovereign's second edict: We have received the memorial from the envoy Zhao Junqing and examined the reply you submitted. You maintain your aspiration for the woods and wilderness, and are also troubled by illness, wishing to remain at the mountain temple and not wanting to come out to the capital, leaving the details incomplete. Towering crags and deep ravines belong to the integrity of recluses; the manifestation of the Buddhadharma is not necessarily like this. Furthermore, the capital has abundant medicines, which is all the more suitable for your illness. Therefore We dispatch the former Clerk Zhu Zhou to receive you, expecting that you will accompany him out to the capital. We only long that the flow of Dharma be unimpeded. Our meeting and conversation will be soon. Eighth day of the second month. Written by the imperial hand of your servant, [Chen] Shubao. The details have been conveyed orally by Zhu Zhou."
