弟子總持和南。仰違已久馳係實深，獻歲非遙傾遲虔禮，暮春届節當遣奉候。謹和南。九月二十四日。

Your disciple Zongchi bows in veneration. It has been long since I was parted from you, and my longings are truly deep. The coming of the New Year is not far off, and I lean forward in anticipation of paying my devout respects; when the late spring arrives, I shall send someone to attend upon you.
