弟子總持和南。仲秋轉冷，仰惟道體康悆。弟子即日粗可行，未由虔禮但增延結，願珍德，謹遣修承。謹和南。

Your disciple Zongchi bows in veneration. As mid-autumn turns colder, I respectfully contemplate your health and comfort. Today your disciple is barely able to walk, and having no way to pay my devout respects only increases my lingering attachments. May you take precious care of your virtue; I respectfully send someone to pay respects. Respectfully bowing in veneration.
