於路次書。總持和南。寒氣漸嚴，仰惟康豫。動寂怡神興居安悅，弟子陪奉鑾駕旅次，長奉遠憑勝力，行往安隱。瞻言祇覲，庶或匪遙，願珍重，此不宣具。謹和南。十月十九日。

Letter written on the road. Zongchi bows in veneration. The cold air is gradually becoming severe; I respectfully contemplate your well-being. May your spirit be serene whether in motion or stillness, and may you be at ease in daily life. Your disciple is accompanying the imperial carriage on its journey, constantly relying from afar upon your supreme power, so that my travels are peaceful and secure. Looking ahead to paying my respects, I hope it will not be far off. Please take precious care; I cannot convey everything here. Respectfully bowing in veneration. Tenth month, nineteenth day.
