You obstinately maintain: 'One only contemplates the nature of consciousness as inherently possessing the three thousand dharmas.' Then, outside the three thousand there is not a single dharma; how could an external phenomenal object exist separately outside the mind, waiting for the principle of the consciousness-aggregate to become manifest before it is pervasively integrated? You must realise that this statement completely misses the intention of cultivating contemplation in the initial mind. Why is that? Since you do not permit contemplation of external forms and other dharmas for fear of the mind turning outward, and only contemplate the principle inherently present within the internal mind, then one would have to contemplate both the internal and the external all at once pervasively before it could be called contemplating the inherently possessed three thousand.
