《妙玄》七科共解，為起五心。而觀心一科，令即聞即修起精進心。《釋籤》解曰：隨聞一句，攝事成理，不待觀境，方名修觀。

The Miaoxuan's joint explanation of the seven headings is for the sake of giving rise to the five minds. The single heading of contemplating the mind causes one, upon hearing, immediately to cultivate, giving rise to the mind of vigorous effort. The Shiqian explains: 'Upon hearing a single phrase, one subsumes phenomena into principle; without waiting for the object of contemplation, this is named cultivating contemplation.'
