上人五義書中，謂此是觀心式樣，乃消不待觀境之文不待陰境。意謂但攝事相法相歸乎真理，便是觀心，不待託於陰入修觀也。

In his Letter on the Five Points, your Reverence claimed that this is the formula for contemplating the mind, construing the text 'without waiting for the object of contemplation' as 'without waiting for the object of the aggregates'. Your meaning was that merely subsuming phenomenal marks and doctrinal marks into true principle is itself contemplating the mind, without waiting to entrust to the aggregates and sense bases to cultivate contemplation.
