若咨稟大師口決，亦只為通事法觀中之壅。大師既深證十境十觀，得以口決示人。滅後傳持之人，若明止觀法門，何以不得將己所解示於新學者耶？

If they inquired and received the oral decisions of the Great Master, it was only to clear obstructions in the contemplation of phenomenal teachings. Since the Great Master had profoundly verified the ten objects and ten contemplations, he was able to instruct people through oral decisions. For those who transmit and uphold [the teaching] after his passing, if they understand the Zhiguan gate of practice, why could they not impart their own understanding to beginners?
