約行、附法、託事三種觀法，皆為行立，俱可造修。若但論教義，不觀己心則如貧數他寶，自無半錢分也。

The three contemplation methods—in accordance with practice, appending to teachings, and entrusting to phenomena—are all established for practice and can all be undertaken and cultivated. If one merely discusses doctrinal meanings and does not contemplate one's own mind, it is like a poor person counting others' treasures without having half a coin of their own.
