此最不可，則諸文教義之後所有觀心皆須廢也，以行人因聞教義自能修觀故。又若自思己行，則聞說事相法相之後自修約行之觀，何須託事附法示之耶？

This is completely untenable, for then all the contemplations of the mind following the doctrinal meaning in the various texts would have to be abolished, because practitioners could naturally cultivate contemplation upon hearing the doctrinal meaning. Moreover, if one reflects on one's own practice, then after hearing phenomenal marks and dharmic marks explained, one would naturally cultivate contemplation according to praxis; why would it be necessary to entrust to phenomena and append to teachings to demonstrate it?
