1.90

弟子（某甲）至心懺悔。自從無始至于今日，未識佛時、未聞法時、未遇僧時，不信因果，汩沒死生，動身口意，無惡不為。遇不善緣、近惡知識，乃至焚燒塔寺、誹謗大乘、侵損常住、污梵誣僧、犯諸禁戒、作不律儀十惡五逆輕重罪愆，身業不善行殺盜婬，口業不善妄言綺語惡口兩舌，意業不善起貪瞋癡，殺父、殺母、殺阿羅漢、破和合僧、出佛身血，自作教他，見聞隨喜，如是等罪無量無邊。今日披陳發露懺悔，惟願三寶同賜哀憐，令我罪根一念霜融悉皆清淨。

"I, disciple [so-and-so], repent with utmost sincerity. From beginningless time until today, when I did not know the Buddha, did not hear the Dharma, and did not meet the Saṅgha, I did not believe in cause and effect and was drowned in birth and death, moving body, speech, and mind, leaving no evil undone. Encountering unwholesome conditions and consorting with bad companions, I went so far as to burn down stūpas and monasteries, slander the Mahāyāna, encroach upon and damage the property of the permanent monastic community, defile the pure life, falsely accuse monastics, violate the prohibitive precepts, practice the improper rules of conduct, and commit the ten unwholesome deeds, the five cardinal sins, and offenses both light and heavy. In the unwholesome karma of the body I practiced killing, stealing, and sexual misconduct; in the unwholesome karma of speech I used false speech, frivolous speech, harsh speech, and duplicitous speech; in the unwholesome karma of mind I gave rise to greed, anger, and delusion; I killed my father, killed my mother, killed arhats, broke the harmony of the Saṅgha, and drew blood from the body of a Buddha; whether committing them myself, teaching others to do so, or rejoicing upon seeing and hearing them done, such offenses are immeasurable and boundless. Today I lay them open, confess, and repent. May the Three Jewels together bestow pity and mercy, so that the roots of my offenses may melt away like frost in a single thought and all become purely cleansed."
