五問：真妄二法為同為異？若言同者，妄本是真，古人不應云：錯將世智為佛智，如認魚目為明珠。若言異者，應是離妄有真，古人不應云：棄波求水、捨器求金。若真妄兩立又不雙存，云何剖伸耶？

Fifth question: Are the two dharmas of the real and the false identical or different? If you say they are identical, the false is fundamentally real; the ancients should not have said: 'Mistaking worldly wisdom for buddha wisdom is like taking a fish eye for a bright pearl.' If you say they are different, there should be a real separate from the false; the ancients should not have said: 'Discarding waves to seek water, abandoning a vessel to seek gold.' If the real and the false are both posited yet do not both coexist, how should this be analyzed and elucidated?
