十五問：妙記第一決釋最初無教佛云：終有一佛，在初無教（云云）。疑者云：義猶未了。若許無教有佛，墮無因過。若言稟教，墮無窮過。願聞一揆矣。

Fifteenth question: The first fascicle of the Subcommentary on the Miaofa lianhua jing xuanyi, resolving the explanation of the initial buddha without teaching, states: 'There is ultimately one buddha who in the beginning had no teaching' (and so forth). A doubter says: 'The meaning is still not clear. If one admits there is a buddha without teaching, one falls into the fault of causelessness. If one says he received teachings, one falls into the fault of infinite regress. I wish to hear a single resolution of this.'
