In the spring of the gengxu year of the Jianyan reign period, [the cloister] suffered from the fires of war, and the cloister buildings were emptied in a single night. Among the ashes, the text of the stone carving of the Imperial Yellow Decree bestowed by the Sage Dynasty was broken and fragmented, no longer legible. I often lamented that there was no way it could ever be made whole again. Coming to the jisi year of the Shaoxing reign period, twenty years after the gengxu year, suddenly one day a monk from the Yao River came holding this ink rubbing. I, [Zhong]min, was overjoyed as if obtaining a rare treasure, and thought that the remaining grace of our ancestral teacher Dharma Master Tong’s teaching seat must not yet have ended, bringing about this heaven-sent fortune; otherwise, how could there be such an extraordinary match? In the first month, on the wuzi day of the following year, it was recarved onto stone. Written by the former Monastic Rectifier of the Circuit and Abbot, Great Master Zhenjiao [Zhong]min.
