四咸平三年，四明大旱，郡人資以祈雨法。師用請觀音三昧冥約，三日不雨，當自焚。如期果大霈。郡守蘇為異而敬之，即題石為記。

Fourth: In the third year of Xianping, there was a great drought in Siming, and the people of the commandery relied on him for a rain-praying ritual. The master used the Invocation of Guanyin Samādhi with a secret pledge: if it did not rain in three days, he would burn himself. At the appointed time, there was indeed a torrential downpour. Su Wei, the commandery governor, marveled at this and revered him, promptly inscribing a stone to record it.
