於戲我祖，法身圓具，非生非滅，
示有新故。即事而真，不離當處，
我作是銘，如是安住。

Alas, our patriarch,
His Dharma-body fully complete,
Neither born nor perishing,
Manifests the new and the old.
Identical with phenomena and yet real,
Not departing from this very place,
I compose this inscription,
Abiding thus.
