此教名為獨菩薩法，以界外道諦為初門（藏、通道諦，即界外集；藏、通滅諦，即界外苦。故以界外道諦治之），無復二乘而能接通。通教三乘，既被接後皆名菩薩，不復名二乘也。

This teaching is called the Dharma exclusively for bodhisattvas. Taking the truth of the path beyond the realms as its primary gate (the truths of the path in the Tripiṭaka and shared teachings are the accumulation beyond the realms; the truths of cessation in the Tripiṭaka and shared teachings are the suffering beyond the realms; therefore, one cures them through the truth of the path beyond the realms), it contains no two vehicles, yet it is able to receive the shared [teaching]. Once the three vehicles of the shared teaching have been received, they are all called bodhisattvas, and are no longer called the two vehicles.
