When the practitioner first enters the bodhimaṇḍa, they should be fully endowed with ten dharmas: first, adorning and purifying the bodhimaṇḍa; second, purifying the body; third, making offerings with the three karmas; fourth, reverently inviting the Three Jewels; fifth, praising the Three Jewels; sixth, bowing to the Buddhas; seventh, repenting; eighth, circumambulating; ninth, chanting the *Lotus Sūtra*; tenth, contemplating the realm of the one reality. For the six periods of the day and night during the three periods of seven days, upon first entering the bodhimaṇḍa during the first period, one should fully cultivate these ten dharmas; during each of the subsequent periods, one should omit the single dharma of inviting the Buddhas, while the remaining nine dharmas are all practiced without difference. (Explaining among these ten dharmas: some only describe the method of physical performance, some teach the mobilization of the mind and the forming of thoughts, and some teach the recitation of texts and phrases by chanting them aloud. The practitioner should properly grasp the intention and apply it; it is not necessary to recite all these texts.)
