1.55

「一切怖畏，一切毒害，一切惡鬼，虎、狼、師子，聞此呪時，口即閉塞，不能為害。破梵行人，作十惡業，聞此呪時，蕩除糞穢，還得清淨。設有業障，濁惡不善，稱觀世音菩薩，誦持此呪，即破業障，現前見佛。」

"Whenever all terrors, all poisons and harms, all evil ghosts, tigers, wolves, and lions hear this mantra, their mouths are immediately sealed and they cannot cause harm. When those who have violated brahmacarya and committed the ten evil deeds hear this mantra, their dung and filth will be swept away and they will regain purity. If there are karmic obstacles, turbid, evil, and unwholesome, by calling upon Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva and reciting and upholding this mantra, those karmic obstacles will immediately be destroyed, and they will see the Buddha face to face."
