2.37

若救一切亡靈者，應誦不空羂索毘盧遮那佛大灌頂光真言。謂若有眾生具造十惡五逆四重諸罪，數如微塵滿斯世界，身壞命終墮諸惡趣。誦此真言加持土砂一百八遍，散亡者屍上骨上或墓塚上，彼所亡者，若在地獄餓鬼傍生修羅等中，以此真言神通威力加持土砂之力，應時即得光明及身，除諸罪報捨所苦身，往於西方極樂國土，蓮花化生更不墮落，直至成佛。真言曰：

If saving all deceased spirits, one should chant the Great Consecration Radiance Mantra of Amoghapāśa Vairocana Buddha. That is to say, if there are sentient beings who have fully committed the ten unvirtuous deeds, the five heinous sins, and the four grave offences, as numerous as minute particles of dust filling this world, and when their bodies break up and their lives end, they fall into the evil destinies: one chants this mantra to empower soil and sand one hundred and eight times, and scatters it over the corpse, the bones, or the grave mound of the deceased. If that deceased person is in the hells, hungry ghosts, animals, or asuras, through the power of the supernatural majestic virtue of this mantra empowering the soil and sand, the radiance will immediately reach their body, eliminating all retribution for sins; renouncing that body of suffering, they will go to the Western Realm of Utmost Bliss, be born by transformation from a lotus, never fall back again, and proceed straight to the attainment of Buddhahood.
