《不空羂索經》云：「若有如法受持讀誦滿千萬遍，則獲七大善夢，入大曼拏羅會。若有過去一切十惡五逆、四重諸罪，燼然除滅。若聞此呪，二三七遍經耳根者，即得除滅一切罪障。若諸眾生，具造十惡五逆四重諸罪，數如微塵滿斯世界，身壞命終墮諸惡道，以此真言加持土沙一百八遍，散亡者屍骸上，或散墓上塔上，彼所亡者，若在地獄、餓鬼、修羅、傍生等中，以此真言加持力故，應時即得光明及身，除諸罪報捨所苦身，往於西方極樂國土，蓮華化生直至成佛，更不墮落。復有眾生連年累月，痿黃疾惱苦楚萬端，是病人者先世業報，以是真言於病者前，一二三日每日高聲誦此真言一千八千遍，則得除滅宿業病障。若為鬼嬈，魂識悶亂失音不語，持真言者加持手一百八遍摩捫頭面，以手按於心上頞上加持一千八十遍，則得除差。若諸鬼神魍魎之病，加持五色線索一百八結，繫其病者腰臂項上，及加持衣，則便除差。」

The Amoghapāśa Sūtra states: “If someone receives, upholds, reads, and recites it according to the Dharma to the full count of ten million times, they will obtain the seven great auspicious dreams and enter the assembly of the great maṇḍala. If there are any sins from the past—the ten unwholesome deeds, five heinous crimes, or the four parajikas—they will be consumed and eliminated like ashes. If one hears this mantra passing through the auditory faculty two, three, or seven times, one will immediately eliminate all karmic hindrances of sin. If sentient beings have committed all such sins as the ten unwholesome deeds, five heinous crimes, and four parajikas, in numbers like fine dust filling this world, and at the end of their lives their bodies break up and they fall into the evil destinies: empowering earth and sand with this mantra one hundred and eight times and scattering it over the deceased's corpse, or scattering it over the grave or stūpa, then whether that deceased person is in the hells, hungry ghosts, asuras, or animals, by the power of empowerment from this mantra, they will immediately attain radiance and bodily transformation, eliminate all retributions of sin, cast off the body of suffering, and go to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, being reborn by transformation in a lotus flower directly until attaining Buddhahood, never again falling into the evil destinies. Furthermore, if sentient beings suffer year after year and month after month from emaciation, jaundice, illness, and distress with ten thousand forms of pain, this patient's suffering is karmic retribution from previous lives; using this mantra in front of the sick person, if one recites this mantra aloud for one, two, or three days, one thousand to eight thousand times each day, then the illness-hindrances of past karma will be eliminated. If someone is tormented by ghosts, their consciousness troubled and confused, losing their voice and unable to speak, the mantra practitioner should empower their hand one hundred and eight times to stroke the patient's head and face, and press the hand over the heart and nose bridge, empowering it one thousand and eighty times, and they will be cured. If it is an illness caused by various ghosts, spirits, or demons, empower a five-colored cord with one hundred and eight knots, tie it around the patient's waist, arm, or neck, and empower the clothing, and they will immediately be cured.”
