1.91

又問曰：「夫生為有本，乃是眾累之元。若知此過，捨生求無生者，可有脫期。今既勸生淨土，即是棄生求生，生何可盡？」

He asks again: "Birth is the root of existence, the origin of all burdens. If one knows this fault and renounces birth to seek the unarisen, there may be a time of liberation. Now, since you exhort rebirth in the Pure Land, this is abandoning birth to seek birth; how could birth ever be ended?"
