佛告跋陀和：「有三昧，名十方諸佛悉在前立。能行是法，汝之所問悉可得也。」跋陀和白佛：「願為說之。多所過度，安隱十方，為諸眾生現大明相。」佛告跋陀和：「有三昧，名定意，學者常當守習持，不得復隨餘法，功德中最第一。」次〈行品〉云，佛告跋陀和：「菩薩欲疾得是定者，常立大信，如法行之，則可得也。勿有疑想如毛髮許。是定意法，名為菩薩超眾行。」

The Buddha told Bhadrapāla: 'There is a samādhi called All Buddhas of the Ten Directions Standing Present. If you are able to practice this Dharma, all that you have asked can be attained.' Bhadrapāla said to the Buddha: 'May you please preach it for us. It will deliver many, bring peace to the ten directions, and manifest great illumination for all sentient beings.' The Buddha told Bhadrapāla: 'There is a samādhi called Fixed Mind. Learners should constantly guard, practice, and uphold it, and must not pursue other teachings; among merits it is foremost.' Next, the 'Practice Chapter' says that the Buddha told Bhadrapāla: 'If a bodhisattva wishes to quickly attain this samādhi, let them constantly establish great faith and practice according to the Dharma, and it can be attained. Let there not be doubts even the size of a hair. This method of fixed mind is called the practice by which bodhisattvas surpass the multitude.'
