Explanation: Although the sentient beings of the Pure Land undergo fragmented [saṃsāra], they do not have those eighty thousand families of worms. That the Da zhidu lun and the Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra speak of worm-bodies is stated based on impure lands. Even in terms of impure lands, although the devas of the form realm are ordinary beings (pṛthagjana), their bodies still lack the eighty thousand families of worms. Furthermore, when the three disasters arise at the end of the kalpa of destruction, the three bad destinies are destroyed first. At that time, in what is received among humans, the body naturally has no eighty thousand families of worms, because the three bad destinies have already been completely destroyed. How much more so for the pure and wondrous form-bodies of the Pure Land: though they are subject to fragmented [saṃsāra], they do not have those bodies of worms.
