Second, explaining those not included [in the three realms]: if they are bodhisattvas of the first ground and above, or arhats and pratyekabuddhas who are trainees beyond training (aśaikṣa) who are born there, these then are not included, because they have already cut off the primary afflictions and transcended the three realms. As the Dazhidulun says: 'There are wonderful pure lands surpassing the three realms; all arhats shall be born therein.' Since the treatise speaks of arhats and does not speak of trainees (śaikṣa), one knows that trainees who are born there are within the three realms.
