1.63

若依《無量壽經》，總說三品。如彼經說：「佛告阿難：『其有眾生生彼國者，皆悉住於正定聚。所以者何？彼佛國中，無諸邪聚，及不定聚。十方恒沙諸佛、如來，皆共讚嘆無量壽佛威神功德不可思議。諸有眾生，聞其名號，信心歡喜，乃至一念至心迴向，願生彼國，即得往生。住不退轉，唯除五逆，誹謗正法。』

If relying on the Larger Sukhāvatīvyūha Sūtra, it speaks generally of three grades. As that sūtra says: "The Buddha told Ānanda: 'Sentient beings who are reborn in that land all abide in the samyaktva-niyata-rāśi. Why is this? In that Buddha-land there are no groups of the wrongly determined or the undetermined. The Buddhas and Tathāgatas of the ten directions, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, all together praise the inconceivable majesty and virtue of the Buddha of Immeasurable Life. All sentient beings who hear his name, with faith and joy, even down to a single thought of sincere dedication aspiring to be reborn in that land, will immediately attain rebirth. They will dwell in non-retrogression, with the sole exception of those who commit the five heinous crimes or slander the correct Dharma.'"
