對曰：「子問非也。此是方等佛經作如是說，非人師之意也。豈可謗之於方等經歟？」

I reply: “Your question is mistaken. It is the vaipulya Buddhist sūtras that speak like this, not the personal opinion of human teachers. How could you slander the vaipulya sūtras?”
