佛告韋提希：「汝及眾生當起想念，正坐西向諦觀於日，令心堅住，專想不移，見日欲沒狀如懸鼓。」
The Buddha told Vaidehī: "You and sentient beings should give rise to mindful thought: sit upright facing the west, clearly contemplate the sun, cause the mind to abide firmly, focus thought without wavering, and see the sun about to set, shaped like a suspended drum."
