軾久欲書柳子厚所作東海若一篇，刻之而置之淨住院無量壽佛堂中。元祐六年二月九日，與海陵曹輔、開封劉季孫、永嘉侯臨會堂下，遂書以遺僧從本使刻之。眉山蘇軾記。

For a long time, I, Shi, wished to write out the piece "The God of the Eastern Sea" composed by Liu Zihou, carve it into stone, and place it in the Hall of Amitāyus Buddha at Jingzhu Cloister. On the ninth day of the second month in the sixth year of the Yuanyou era, I met in the hall with Cao Fu of Hailing, Liu Jisun of Kaifeng, and Hou Lin of Yongjia; thereupon I wrote it down and gave it to the monk Congben to have it carved.
