Rending the net of hindrances, emerging from the river of craving, shattering ignorance, and transcending the defiled—the Dharma gate of buddhānusmṛti alone is supreme. If one directly tallies with realization without exceeding a single thought, then the seas of lands numerous as dust and sand vastly return [to unity]. The illumination of wisdom knows no separation between east and west, nor distinction between pure and defiled; the four modes of birth and the nine realms of existence all enter the great luminous […] treasury of spiritual powers. Since the founding Patriarch Yuan established the teaching, those who have gained benefit through seeing, hearing, and cultivating cannot be fully known or numbered. Alas, antiquity is far removed, and the Dharma has long suffered decline; Master Youtan ultimately could not bear the injustice, and collected essential texts from the great canon and the clear tracks of the worthies into the *Precious Mirror of the Lotus School*, personally carrying the imperial decree to circulate it in the world—truly a treatise unchangeable for ten thousand ages. It enables future students to reflect upon this text, possess correct views, and roam together in the Land of Eternally Quiescent Light. How could this be a small benefit? On the first day of the first month, the *jiayin* year [1314 CE], respectfully written by Zhuyuan Yongsheng, the Daoist of Non-Abiding on Mount Lu.
