Eighth, the Pure Lands of the Various Directions: such as Medicine Buddha in the east, Sun-Moon-Lamp Buddha in the south, and Fragrance-Accumulated Buddha in the zenith; each and every Buddha has his own pure land. Those mentioned across the sūtras cannot be recorded in full; all are the true reward adornments of the Buddhas. In the sūtras, some are temporarily manifested through the Buddha's spiritual power; or great bodhisattvas go there to make offerings; but because those Buddhas did not speak of gathering in living beings, beings also lack the affinity to be born there. Even in the Abhirati world, although Śākyamuni predicted that some would be reborn there, we have not heard that Akṣobhya universally guides beings; moreover, in that land there are the Iron Ring and Mount Sumeru ranges, as well as ghosts, spirits, and women; one should know that its pure adornment does not equal that of Peaceful Nurture. Furthermore, as Bhaiṣajyaguru Tathāgata saves sentient beings with twelve great vows, and the sūtra also says that those with faith should be reborn there; when investigating his vow-power, it mostly liberates from all sorrows and suffering, bringing ultimate peace and joy. It is not like Amitābha Tathāgata, who solely by means of buddhānusmṛti gathers in all people to be reborn in that land.
