May we be reborn, may we be reborn! For vast kalpas we have dwelt in saṃsāra, constantly submerged in the three wretched paths, undergoing all sufferings, only now receiving a human body and hearing the true Dharma. It is like a thirsty person finding a clear spring; thought after thought longing to hear the Pure Land teachings, line by line, phrase by phrase, we vow to be diligent. Recalling the suffering of long wandering, with focused mind we listen to the Dharma to enter the true gate. The Pure Land is without birth and without distinction, ultimate liberation, a vajra body. By this cause and condition we invite the high seat, to repay the Buddha's compassionate grace and turn the wheel of the Dharma. Let the assembly rejoice in body and mind, holding fragrant flowers in hand, ever making offerings.
