"Furthermore, Śāriputra, the land of Sukhāvatī has ponds of the seven jewels, filled with waters of eight virtues, their bottoms paved purely with golden sand. On the four sides are flights of stairs, composed of gold, silver, lapis lazuli, and crystal. Above are multistoried pavilions, likewise adorned with gold, silver, lapis lazuli, crystal, giant clam, red pearl, and agate. The lotuses in the ponds are as large as chariot wheels: the blue-coloured give off blue light, the yellow-coloured yellow light, the red-coloured red light, and the white-coloured white light, subtle, exquisite, fragrant, and pure. Śāriputra, the land of Sukhāvatī is adorned with such virtues as these."
