We vow to be reborn! We vow to be reborn! / Sukhāvatī is the unconditioned realm of nirvāṇa; / with miscellaneous good deeds according to circumstance, it is feared birth is hard to attain. / Therefore the Tathāgata selected the essential teaching, / instructing us to recite [the name of] Amitābha solely and exclusively. / For seven days and seven nights without interruption in mind, / when initiating practice over a prolonged time, doubly so. / At life's end the holy assembly appears holding a lotus; / with body and mind leaping for joy, one sits upon the golden lotus. / When seated, one instantly attains the anutpattika-dharma-kṣānti, / and in a single thought is welcomed into the Buddha's presence. / Dharma companions vie to come bringing robes to bestow, / and having attained non-retrogression, one enters the three stages of worthiness. / May the entire assembly turn their hearts and all vow to go; / holding fragrant flowers in hand, let us make constant offerings.
