諦觀西方有一國，其國有佛號彌陀，一坐說法恒沙劫，普為世界斷諸魔。極樂城中登聖座，諸天圍遶悉來過，八萬四千菩薩眾，奉持花果散娑婆。

Attentively contemplate that in the West there is a land; / In that land there is a Buddha named Amitābha. / In a single sitting he expounds the Dharma for kalpas numerous as the sands of the Ganges, / Universally severing all demons for the sake of the world. / In the city of Ultimate Bliss he ascends the sacred seat; / Surrounded by the gods, they all come by; / The assembly of eighty-four thousand Bodhisattvas / Holds flowers and fruits to scatter over the Sahā world.
