The merit of bowing to the Buddha: If a good man or good woman has committed the four grave transgressions, the five rebellious acts, slandered the Triratna, or committed the four pārājikas, such a person's sins are heavy. Even if the ground trodden throughout Jambudvīpa were turned into fine dust, each particle becoming an eon, and such a person possessed sins amounting to that many eons, if they chant the name of this single Buddha and pay homage to Him, all the sins mentioned above will be completely annihilated, and this person's merit will be inconceivable.
