Having recited this verse, one should further make aspirations with mind and mouth: May this disciple, when approaching the end of life, have a mind that is neither inverted, nor confused, nor devoid of right mindfulness; may body and mind be free of all pain and suffering, and may body and mind be peaceful and blissful as if entering meditative concentration. May the noble assembly manifest before me, and riding the Buddha's original vow, may I attain rebirth in the highest grade in the land of Amitābha Buddha. Having arrived in that land, may I attain the six supernatural knowledges, return to the realms of the ten directions, and rescue and embrace suffering sentient beings. As long as empty space and the dharmadhātu endure, so too shall my vows. Having made aspirations, with a sincere mind I take refuge and prostrate to Amitābha Buddha.
