2.33

眾生被困厄，無量苦逼身，
觀音妙智力，能救世間苦（乃至），
諍訟經官所，怖畏軍陣中，
念彼觀音力，眾怨悉退散。
妙音觀世音，梵音海潮音，
勝彼世間音，是故須常念。
念念勿生疑，觀世音淨聖，
於苦惱死厄，能為作依怙。
具一切功德，慈眼視眾生，
福聚海無量，是故應頂禮。

Sentient beings are beset by hardship and distress,
Boundless sufferings oppress their bodies;
The wondrous power of Avalokiteśvara's wisdom
Can save them from the suffering of the world (and so forth);
When litigation takes one before government officials,
Or in terror amid the ranks of battle,
By being mindful of that power of Avalokiteśvara,
All enmities and resentments will retreat and scatter.
Wondrous Voice, Avalokiteśvara,
Brahma Voice, Ocean-Tide Voice,
Surpassing those sounds of the world,
Therefore one should constantly be mindful of him.
Thought after thought, do not give rise to doubt:
Avalokiteśvara, the pure sage,
In suffering, affliction, death, and calamity,
Is able to serve as a protector and refuge.
Endowed with all merits,
Looking upon sentient beings with eyes of compassion,
An ocean of blessings that is immeasurable,
Therefore one should bow down and pay homage.
